The Sunshine Coast Power and Sail Squadron offers boating courses for all level of boating enthusiasts. Courses are offered by local instructors in the evenings at different venues around the lower Sunshine Coast.
Getting Started
The Boating Course provides an introduction to boating, maintenance, navigation and safety. It is taught by Sunshine Coast Power and Sail Squadron volunteers also includes the examination for the Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC), which is proof of competency for operating a pleasure craft fitted with a motor; proof of competency is now mandatory. On successful completion of this course, graduates also become members of the CPS.
Learning for Everyone
A wide range of CPS approved courses are available. Most courses are offered locally by the Sunshine Coast Power and Sail Squadron. Courses that are not offered locally may be taken through the CPS Distance Learning Program.
Courses are open to non-members, however enrollment in advanced programs requires candidates to have passed The Boating Course.
