The Boating Course (with PCOC exam)
Develop Safe & Fun Boating Practices! This introductory boating course developed by the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron provides you with you Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card plus so much more! Whether you are interested in powerboats, sailing vessels or kayaks, this course is for you. Some of the features of this 14 week course include navigation (chart reading, buoys), rules of the ‘water’, safety on the water and in your boat, characteristics of boats, mandatory equipment for the type of boat you have, ropes, lines and knots, handling a boat in all types of weather, collision requirements and emergency preparedness. Passing the final exam includes complementary membership for one year in CPS-ECP (Canada’s largest association of recreational boating enthusiasts) and receive the benefits of membership. Also completion of the Boating Course includes the Exam for your Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC). 14 weeks (12 instruction + CPS exam + PCOC exam)
